First time reshaft:
1. measure depth of hosel (the hole in club head)
2. mark that measurement (from small end of shaft)
3. place ferrule (little plastic thingy) next to shaft with bottom side at mark
4. mark the upper side of the ferrule on the shaft
5. scrape off paint on shaft small end to just below the upper mark
6. place shaft tip into hosel hole in club making sure it goes to the bottom of the hole
7. place ferrule on top edge of the hosel (where hole in club head starts)
8. be sure the ferrule will cover all of the scraped part of the shaft
9. Bevel inside of the hosel
10. remove any burr at bottom of bevel
11. wire brush inside of hosel hole
12. wipe out hole with acetone or alchol on a cotton swab.
13. wipe the sahft tip (where you scraped off paint) with alchol or acetone.
14 mix epoxy
15. smear a SMALL amount of epoxy inside hosel hole
16. smear small amount of epoxy on scraped shaft tip
17. place small end of ferrule on shaft tip.
18 push large end of ferrule against the edge of your work bench
19. place hosel hole on tip of shaft
20 place butt end (big end) of shaft on floor
21. holding head in one hand other hand holding shaft
22 push head onto shaft which will push ferrule up the shaft into proper position
23. remove head and check that entire tip of shaft is coated with epoxy
24. be sure to remove any epoxy from the hole in the tip of the shaft.
25 replace head with a twisting motion
26 wipe off any epoxy that oozes out between the ferrule and the hosel
27 hold head in one hand and with other twist shaft into position you desire
28 set head on floor with shaft butt resting against wall
29 allow epoxy to cure 24 hours (DO NOT MOVE CLUB)
30 cut butt end to the proper playing length
31 smooth edge of end you just cut
32 apply grip tape to butt end of shaft
33 fill grip with a measured amount of solvent
34 pour this solvent on grip tape
35 slide grip onto shaft
36 position grip to align with the face of the club
37 wipe off solvent that may be on shaft and grip
38 punch through the vent hole in the grip
39 allow a few hours for the grip solvent to dry.
40 polish the ferrule so that it blends perfectly with the hosel
41 wipe ferrule with acetone to restore shine
42 If you assembled an iron you now need to adjust the loft and lie
43 if you assembled a wood go hit some balls
