Subject: Balistik Specifications

Your website says "APOLLO BALISTIK STEEL
The original multi-flex steel shaft is back!"

However, after ordering some of your wood and iron shafts I
find that is not the case.

I have listed the original Apollo specifications and the
actual measurements of some of your shafts.

Original Apollo specifications (from 1998 Golfsmith catalog):
Wood 48" long, 125g, .600 Butt (13" Parallel), .335 Tip (17" Parallel)
Iron 44" long, 130g, .600 Butt (12" Parallel), .370 Tip (16" Parallel)

Hireko Apollo measurements (average of three woods, one iron):
Wood 48" long, 137.3g, .600 Butt (8.5" Parallel), .335 Tip (11 5/8
Parallel)
Iron 43 15/16, 132g, .600 Butt (11" Parallel), .370 Tip (11" Parallel)

In addition, I measured the cpms of your iron shaft vs. an original,
5" clamp, 254g tip weight.

Hireko Iron 263 cpm
Original Iron 254 cpm

As you can see, there are significant differences, especially with
the wood shafts. The iron shafts are somewhat closer to original
specifications, but are stiffer than the original.

Could you please explain these differences for me? Does Hireko
have plans to produce "Balistik" shafts that have the same
specifications as the original Balistiks?

Thx,

Ed Reeder
