I've heard many good things about the original Balistik shaft.  I was wondering how it compares to the Memphis 10 shaft.  (I'm talking more specs rather than likes/dislikes.)
Thanx...........

I liked the "original" Balistiks. I still had a few unused Balistik iron
shafts and enough pull-outs left for a set of irons. I had decided to use
them to reshaft one of my sets of Titleist 962s when the "new" Balistiks
came out. I got a couple of "new" Balistik iron shafts from my local
distributor and put one in a 962 5-iron head and an "original" one in
another 962 5-iron head, both clubs set to the same length and frequency
specifications. Turns out I liked the "new" Balistik better. To me it feels
a lot "livelier" than the "original" and it is now my iron shaft of choice.

The only problem I've seen with the "new" shaft is consistency. So far, I
have purchased about 15 of them. All of them but two have weighed 139-grams
± 1-gram and the raw frequencies have been about ± 1-CPM. One shaft weighed
141.5-grams with a raw frequency similar to "nominal". The other shaft
wasn't even close. It weighed 125-grams (I've weighed it five times) and the
raw frequency was about 5-CPM lower than "nominal".

I just got some of the "new" Balistik wood shafts and am looking forward to
trying them. I put my one remaining "original" Balistik wood shaft in a
PT-15 head last week and really liked it. I hope the experience with the
"new" and "original" wood shafts is the same as that with the iron shafts.

I guess I don't get what you guys are all worked up about.

The new Balistik multi-flex steel shaft does just what the old one did. It
allows you to carry one shaft and tip trim for across the S-L flex curve.

You asked why the new shaft did not match the old shaft's specification and
they told you - the new shaft has new specifications.

I like these shafts. They serve the purpose they are designed for very well.
I have been able to reduce my shaft inventory and simplify things for one
segment of my market with them. They work as advertised.

It's not the first time a product specification has changed in this
business.
