"Soft" grips; Tour Velvets, Chamois, etc., are damn near impossible to blow off but come off easily with a flat blade.
I've come to save the day! The trick with the above mentioned grips is to roll back the mouth of the grip about 2-3 inches, then roll back to original position and then put "ainti burst tube" over grip, drape rag over shaft at grip mouth, squirt solvent in vent hole, and blow off in usual manner. POW!, grip is saved!
Winn grips require 2-3 patient applications of solvent squirts (3-4 squirts from solvent gun) and short bursts of air with gentle twisting of the grip in the direction that doesn't unravel the wrap. Tip here is to place rag over blowgun tip when removing blowgun for additional squirts of solvent! No need to make a mess!
