Back in the '60 there was a similar saying about the migration of folks from the North down to Texas.  Being a native of a very proud state we have certain ways of looking at life and for the most part they are a lot different than the ways of the North.  To us a Good Yankee was one that came and then went back home.  A Damn Yankee is one that stayed.  What is even worse is one that came, became governor and now as president calls himself a Texan.  Kinda hard for a fifth generation native Texan to except that train of thought.
