That is a neat idea. Another clubmaker I visit made a device with a laser pointer to do it. I will be visiting him again to check frequencies and will see how he made his FLO device too and perhaps I'll try one or the other in my own situation!

Regarding lack of equipment to FLO.  There is a VERY SIMPLE, VERY
CHEAP way to get FLO (Precisely marking it is a challenge, but FLO is
easy to find).  This was from a post on one of Wishon's forums.

The guy clamps the shaft so that it points straight up.  (You could
use two pieces of wood with V-channels in a vice for a clamp).
He puts a tip weight on the shaft and twangs it.   After a few cycles
the shaft naturally finds its FLO.  Pretty neat!  The vertical mount
removes the influence of the shaft weight and tip weight on FLO.

He started with a 205g (?) weight, but found a weight around 400g
was even better.
