I've
done several repairs for one of my clients...same things you are seeing.
It's been a while, but IIRC, I didn't do anything about the ferrule. The
problem with these clubs and shafts is that the taper angle puts a whole
lot more stress on the epoxy. It's a really weak joint. My customer
also lost his 7I head in a pond, and we eventually got Golfsmith to give us a
replacement (remember that Golfsmith bought Lynx and all their inventory).
It's been a couple of years and I would expect that their supply of spares is
now depleted...
My
guess is that your best bet is to convince the customer to scrap the Lynx clubs
and let you build him/her a new set. That's what I eventually did, and
made the customer a whole lot more happy with the new set.
