All of this is exactly what I did on the other two putters but in one I put 5 oz and the other 6 oz. Nothing scientific, just playing with the heavy putter idea. I am guessing that by removing 2 oz of weight from two ball I will come dang close to matching the blade and this I will do. As for the Odyssey I will more than likely empty it, make it original again and sell it on ebay.
Now do I want to know how much the club weighs, probably not. To duplicate one say for someone else it might take more weight or even less. I am 5'8" tall and I play with average length clubs measured from ground to wrist. I putt with a putter that from soul to butt of the grip is 31" and right now it work greater than any putter I have used. My wedges, sand and lob, also have shorter shafts, beyond that it is all standard for my heights.
I am not the best golfer on the block but the introduction of a 460 cc driver, Adams fairway woods, and the flee market putter are doing pretty dang good right now.
All of this is just the other part of the game I enjoy, playing with what ifs.
Have a great weekend, Tom Mason

Weight was put in the shaft and packed down with a cork. As for as the balance point I did not look for it. Having done the similar routine to the other two putters but with a little more weight, I went for feel. With 26 putts ranging from 2 to 20 feet, I could not belive the results. Before this little project began I putt about the same with the Wilson and the Two Ball, and a little better than the Odyssey. I have always like the feel of the Wilson but I have never had less than 31 putts per round. The science of it? Who cares so long as it works.
Sorry, but I have to respond to this.
Yes, you were going for feel. And yes, it did work.
Now, don't you want to know what numbers will duplicate the feel you got? I certainly would, and I'm pretty sure Jeremy (who asked the question) would. It would certainly be useful for you, too; If you have to make another -- perhaps radically different -- putter for yourself, you might want to duplicate those numbers so the new putter is most likely to feel right.
I think Jeremy asked exactly the right questions:
* What was the final total weight?
* Where was the final balance point? (Usually, balance point is measured from where the centerline of the shaft meets the ground line.)
* What was the length of the club? (I added this question just now.)
I'd very much appreciate seeing those numbers.
Jeremy also asked where you put the weight. I don't know if he is happy with your answer to the question, but I'd like a little clarification. "In the shaft and packed down with a cork" suggests it was towards the tip. Is that the case? Or did you do something to weight the butt?
Thanks, DaveT

Where is it okay to be teed off, tote a six-iron, shoot birdies, and if you're under par it's a great day?
