I've used numerous Bushnell units, and owned a Leica for a couple years, and there isn't a comparison between the two - the Leica is far superior in every way. The optics are top-notch, and the fact that the Leica has an LED display (vs. the LCD display of the Bushnell, which also reduces image quality) makes it usable in very low-light situations (I used it for hunting as well). The only reason I sold the Leica was that it was the older model before the scan feature. The new models have scan, and it is on my list of things to get.
As far as use, they do require a steady hand, but the scan feature helps out a lot in that regard. I would usually try to aim for people on the green if I could, or the top of the flagstick. It worked well for getting distance to other obstacles as well.
