We average the handicaps. Suppose the avg. is 58. We
then try to make each group handicap match close as
possible to the average. It could turn out to be a 5
and 3 16's . . . or not. That's when judgement time
comes. 

Of course this only applies if you're playing a 4-some
event. But still, within groups we have team bets,
Generally the high and low vs the 2 in the middle, or
something like that. Again, we try to match up total
handicap strokes.
