I would point to the UST butt/mid/tip stiffness numerical ratings as an example of what could be done. IMO, a standardized system like that, of real numbers, would be a great thing to have. I'm not sure why the mfrs would not like it. But heck, the OEMs don't even like labeling the correct lofts on drivers. :-)
