Looks like that's a symptom of the same problem as this bug:

I've also seen a few reports of the same bug when using gedit. But in
either case I think it's a bug with something other than shotwell.
Perhaps you should add a comment on the bug there?

And I see, that shotwell is using about a 600 MB of RAM,
and between
70-80 percent of CPU.
This error occures after 10 - 20 minutes after sending a
command to a
terminal.
I have only security updates enabled.
