F-spot did this nicely I think, if I did a change to a photo it could
create a copy of the original. If I was happy with my change I could

We're aware that this is a desired feature. We do have two feature
requests
open in regards to this: 1798<http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/1798> and
1933<http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/1933>. These are features we would
like to implement at some point in the future.

'straighten' feature, which is just a special kinda rotation, surely? :-)
Good news: Clinton Rogers here at Yorba has been making good progress on
adding a straighten feature, and it's looking very likely this will make
0.12.
