No :-((

I was hoping that /usr/share/keymaps is already packaged for SHR but didn't
find it. Nevertheless thanks for this tip. I installed the Debian package
kbd (opkg failed, so I extracted it manually), copied /usr/share/keymaps
from my PC to OpenMoko and called
loadkeys /usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwertz/de.kmap.gz

After restart of the X server I could use my keyboard and wrote already a
test SMS (probably 10-100 times faster than using the touchscreen keyboard
:-))

Nearly everything seems to work (in SMS application), except cursor keys
and right Alt key (AltGr) required for |, ยต, ~. Nevertheless a great
progress, now I will request adding kbd to OpenEmbedded and this problem will
be solved soon.

That's not really useable for larger changes of key mappings.
