When you disconnect GPRS in Settings -> Connections, it displays
"Disconnected", but somehow it forgets to store this state. In
/var/log/messages I see that it's a normal termination of pppd and the
ipdown-script. When you go to the menu next time, it shows the known
"UNKNOWN".

In this case it could not restore the default route because the
network was out of range at that time.
