I don't think this is true!!! First of all, we should still try to
persuade the copyright owner to modify the licence - then we have no
problem at all. Second, the needed changes in the FPC RTL shouldn't
be so extensive, so it really _is_ possible to do them in the way I
suggested. Third, you can freely work on any missing components, etc.
- you will temporarily not be able to use them in commercial
projects, but anybody can use them in (L)GPLed ones, and later
they're ready for commercial ones once LX format output is ready.
Fourth, anybody can work on the IDE related things (including the
integration with the FPC compiler, etc.), since this one is and
probably always will stay under GPL anyway (and there's no problem
with that). So no, the currently missing support for LX is definitely
no reason for stopping (or not starting) the work and just sitting
and waiting.
