could be, but so are ssl cert things from thawte, or dns services that
permit users to interact with the dns provider...

the hosted model is there for, ideally, people who do not want to run
their own infrastructure... in a sense it's godaddy-dns for rpki data,
instead of 'running your own dns server'.
