I would like to mention that the last time I installed a Linux system,
(using RedHat) I didn't have to do any tweaking--I just followed the
instructions, and I'm sure the installation has only improved since then.
I installed an NT system recently, and had a much more difficult time,
having to install several times, and play with defferent partitioning
scemes to get it to even install. I spent much less time with the RedHat
install, and found it to be easier, than the NT install. I also find my
RedHat box easier to use, and am rather fond of the fact that it has never
crashed (unless you count the power going off once...even then it booted
back up cleanly when power came back). I cannot say this of the NT box.
Performance is also much better on my AMDK6 200Mhz than on my Dell Intel
P2 333Mhz. I've strayed from my point, though, which was that the RedHat
install was easier.
