So I'm looking at gui/gdmlogin.c in the sources for gdm, and it has
"gnome_preferences_set_dialog_position (GTK_WIN_POS_CENTER);" on line
1501. I'm assuming that this is where the location is set. I poked
around and found GTK_WIN_POS_CENTER to be part of an enum defined in
/usr/include/gtk/gtkenums.h:

/* Window position types */
typedef enum
{
  GTK_WIN_POS_NONE,
  GTK_WIN_POS_CENTER,
  GTK_WIN_POS_MOUSE,
  GTK_WIN_POS_CENTER_ALWAYS
} GtkWindowPosition;

Unfortunately, this doesn't leave much room for flexible placement. I'm
looking for the definition of "gnome_preferences_set_dialog_position" to
see what it takes and if I can use some other value. Anyone alreay know
this one?
