Hey, I need some help with eth0. I have a Netgear
FA310TX and RH6.1. Boot-time messages say eth0:unknown interface:No such device
"eth0" isn't
in /proc/devices, /proc/interrupts, or /dev. It is in /proc/net/dev,
however.
ifconfig eth0 up yields SIOCSIFFLAGS:Resource temporarily
unavailable
And when I run ./MAKEDEV
-v eth0 it says ./MAKEDEV:Don't know how to make device
"eth0"
This is the beginning of the output from
./MAKEDEV -v update
:
./MAKEDEV: don't know what "pty" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "ttyS" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "misc" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "fb" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "netlink" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "ptm" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "pts" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "raw" is ./MAKEDEV: don't know what "ramdisk" is I know the card works, because I had it working for
a short while last semester before I reinstalled. Linux would really rather be
on the net.
Thanks,
Frank Phillips
