The IBM jvm 1.1 is far from stable. I've heard the same of 1.3.
It is fairly fast, but has lots of bugs... Apparently IBM JDK 1.3 won't
even pass the Jikes test suite. [also by IBM].
In my experience, your best to go with Sun's latest release of
1.2...
In theory, if your code passes the java bytecode verifier [java
-verify], it should never throw a segmentation fault... "In theory" that
is.
