Internet Telephony

Does anyone know a way to use the internet for long distance phone calls
under linux?  I would have thought dialpad.com would still work since
it's web based, but nope.  All other companies seem to require downloads
which are *grimace* windows only.  Hopefully there is some better made
service that works.
