Yes, well, I'm sure everyone can come up with a point on the issue, that
doesn't necessarily we should conform to what they wish.

I don't see what the history of the world has to do with a name change.

Just because they are laws doesn't mean that they are good things. Have you
read what either of those bills entail? I suggest you take a detailed look
at what each one says, and then decide if you want this to be remembered as
"the era of DMCA and SSCA"

Personally, I don't see why we should have to change the name. RMS's
argument is equivalent to arguing if 6 is half of 12 or half a dozen. The
point of our organization is Linux. We run linux. We help others with
linux. The SIGLinux webpage states that we are here to ask questions and
share ideas among GNU/Linux users. Not to advocate GNU in general. I'm not
going to quit reading this list if the name changes. It just strikes me as
slightly shallow if we change our name just to appease one person. I don't
remember Maddog requiring us to alter our image when he came to speak.
Perhaps RMS should come talk to us to attempt to persuade us to change our
name, but not on the condition that we do.

Either way, change the name, don't change the name. But just decide and
quit filling up my mailbox :)
