Mandrake is the Windows of the Linux world. It takes /all/ the guess work 
out of it. You should get an IP even before you really finish the install 
-- I believe part of the install is to check for updates to packages / 
allow you to install some extra ones from the internet (if you choose). I 
don't forsee you having any problem with Mandrake and a 3Com card.
