The problem is that the card is non-PnP ISA, and the kernel driver does not properly detect the resources. I had to use 3com's dos utility to look up these resources.
I made some changes to /etc/modules.conf. I'd make a backup of that file before upgrading, I don't know if Mandrake will wipe it out or not. Could you email me modules.conf off-list and I'll let you know what needs to be changed if Mandrake 9 overwrites it.
