Well, I did try, I added the mailing list to the CC field when I e-mailed Joel. 
The trouble is, the message bounced back with this error:

However, it seems that Joel got the message fine. I didn't want to invest time 
trying to understand what that "This block will automatically be lifted 
shortly" meant.

You could have asked to see the patch though.
