Nice!

I'm not really sure who received an ASIX Omega and/or docs or firmware
for that. As far as I'm aware, none of the currently active sigrok
developers have the hardware or the protocol docs or the firmware.

Håvard Espeland <[email protected]> (haavares on IRC) used to be in
contact with ASIX back then (2010 or so) when he wrote the libsigrok
driver for the ASIX SIGMA.

*Maybe* it was him who also received ASIX Omega info/hardware, but I
don't know for sure. Either way, he hasn't been active on the mailing
list or on IRC for a few years now, so we don't really know his status.
I'm putting him on CC though, maybe he can be reached and has more info.

You could also try to contact either/all of the people listed as
copyright owners in the libsigrok driver (CC'd):

 * Copyright (C) 2010-2012 Håvard Espeland <[email protected]>,
 * Copyright (C) 2010 Martin Stensgård <[email protected]>
 * Copyright (C) 2010 Carl Henrik Lunde <[email protected]>

In case there's no answer, please ask ASIX for docs + firmware again,
ideally maybe those could be made public downloads on their website?
Failing that, we should certainly document the protocol in our wiki
and/or the libsigrok source code of course.

As for the firmware files, if possible we'd like to get permission to at
least redistribute them (without modifications), so that we can put them
in our sigrok-firmware repo/tarball like we already do with the SIGMA
firmware:

  http://sigrok.org/gitweb/?p=sigrok-firmware.git;a=tree;f=asix-sigma

(The same firmware license as in LICENSE.Sigma there would be fine)

Hope that helps, Uwe.
