I guess so. See below. And if you are keen on information about
development, I suggest you do lurk in the IRC channel.

Omega certainly won't work with Sigma firmware, as the hardware
is using different chips. And Omega won't work with drivers
which were written for Sigma specifically, since the protocol is
similar yet different enough so that you won't get any samples.
Adding Omega support requires access to the documentation, which
I understand jry@ has but he lacks time and resources to address
this subject. I don't have access to the documentation, so I
could test but can neither develop nor review (thoroughly).

Support for Sigma recently got much better in mainline, as most
of the fixes which jry@ did were included on 2017-05-26. Do you
have a chance to run recent software from git, so you can provide
feedback before the pending release gets created? IRC was quiet
when I asked for testers.

What's currently missing yet is available in jry's gitlab repo is
support for multiple devices and the conn= specification, some
FTDI specific adjustment (optimization, nothing that reduces the
feature set), and renamed identifiers to better match the doc.
All other fixes and improvements made it into mainline last week
(in a slightly different implementation than jry's, if there are
bugs then they are mine).

What's missing too but has not even become available as a proof
of concept or work in progress is support for triggers. The
current implementation does not work (bug 359), and is disabled
in the source for now. Can't tell when I will get around to
looking into this issue, as I'm currently busy in other areas of
the sigrok project.
