I think this might have been caused by a bug that was fixed a while ago.
Please try the latest nightly, it should work out of the box:

 - "open PulseView-NIGHTLY.dmg"
 - CTRL-Click the PulseView icon, select "Open" (or such)
 - PulseView will automatically find a "CWAV USBee AX" and it'll appear
   in the device drop-down.
