I realised recently that I asked 'What do you do?' to not have the responsibility of the conversation, especially in social situations where I have little interest. Usually, people take it away into a 2 mins post which I can disappear. My recent simple response which resonates with me is 'I travel' which for those who know me is apt enough : )
