Apple India makes the trip worthwhile despite the taxes! Considering their quote of Rs. 1,53,000 for an $2800 (US price) machine, the 25k difference seems better spent on plane tickets and hardware shopping in S'pore (if you have friends/family to host your lodging, of course!)
