I thought the problem was cencorship itself, not how
many blogs the gag targets.

Hmmm ... fairly bizarre occurance:

We were just discussing this over lunch in the company canteen, when I
mentioned in passing that I thought that censorship as a practice was
bad. That raised a laugh because everybody thought I was kidding
around as usual. When they realised I was serious, some people
disagreed.

The impression I was left with, was that even if they were unable to
articulate it clearly, most people were of the opinion that censorship
is necessary and that the govt acts the national interest when
censoring blogs, books, movies or whatever. Their complaint was about
shoddy execution rather than the principle of the thing.

Granted, this was not a scientific survey -- but I suspect it would be
fairly representative of middle class Indian opinion.

The odd thing is that despite the fact that middle class India thinks
of politicians as an unsavoury bunch, it has no problems with a
paternal govt run by the same bunch that takes decisions impacting on
personal freedoms.

Why the heck would anyone trust the govt? The mind boggles ...
