Hello all,

Just to follow up on the internet censorship debacle we had recently. For those who came in late, read up at http://censorship.wikia.com/ wiki/Bloggers_Against_Censorship

The blanket ban on blogspot has been lifted now, but certain sites continue to be banned, with no explanation for why. I wrote this bit summarising the collective opinion of those participated in the protest last week: http://jace.seacrow.com/archive/2006/07/23/long-dawn

I think it is abundantly clear now that we need a lobbying front for the rights of internet users in India, somewhat akin to the EFF. This front must necessarily be a legal and media collective. I'm given to understand this has been attempted before but always fallen apart for lack of a full-time coordinator. We're going to have the same problem again unless appointing said coordinator becomes the first priority.

Thoughts?
