Should a society not do everything in its power, and demand that leaders do everything in their power to stop deaths from terrorism? I for one am not comfortable with the rationalization that terrorism is a small but somehow acceptable way of dying, or that it is OK for people to be killed by terrorists because their lives are cheap compared to someone else.
Is it OK for people to be killed by automobile accidents? I think you will find that deaths by automobile accidents are AT LEAST two orders of magnitude higher than deaths due to terrorism. Why, then, this fixation on getting governments to fix this rather than focus effort where it will provide more of a benefit?
I have no particular axe to grind in this particular discussion - I'm genuinely curious as to what prompted this outburst.
