Semantics aside, is India Hindu dominated or not? If you hear an announcer on the BBC saying "Pakistan and India have been to war three times over the status of Kashmir, which is the only Muslim majority state in Hindu dominated India", would say that is a fair description of what you see as the truth?

Semantics *are* it, Shiv.

Who is the audience? What does "Hindu" mean to them? If the audience are of the notion that Hinduism is a single religion that excludes all Muslims and "dominated" refers to numerical majority, then yes, the announcer is right.

For all other definitions of "Hindu" and "dominated", I can't say.

I have to ask you this, Shiv: Are you certain you are not projecting your biases on an unwitting demography? Who defined "Hindu" for you so that "Hindu dominated India" makes sense? Is that definition shared by the rest of the country?
