first, most consonant sounds are made using the tongue, while vowels
rely more on the shape of the mouth. so something that relies on
possibly confusingly changing vowel sounds should be a "mouth
twister" :-)

one of the most famous tongue twisters in english, betty botter's better
batter [1], is all about vowel discrimination since the consonants are
almost entirely alternating /b/ and /t/.

this is quite different from, say, she sells seashells on the seashore.
