I can understand why you say that, and I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise. Still, having been at a lot of big (and small) public companies (DEC, Apple, Xerox) and now at Google for a while I can say that while I agree with you in general, I disagree with you in the specific case of Google. That may well change over time as Google gets bigger. The idealism may get diluted or even lost, but at least for now *I* feel that Google is trying to not be evil, even sometimes to the detriment of short term profits. -- Charles
