I've been itching for some revenge too. The Mumbai thing was grotesque
enough to really piss me off. The thing that got to me the most was
the lack of any real demands -- there was no goal beyond killing. My
fantasies have mostly involved Indian tanks rolling into Islamabad.
It's about time we got that two bit banana republic off our doorstep,
dammit!

Unfortunately, reality tends to seep in and ruin everything.

Frankly, I have few moral qualms about whacking people with blood on
their hands. But I see no reason why force is going to be successful
in suppressing terrorists this time when it has been so conspicuously
ineffective in the past. Show me one insurgency which has been quelled
without addressing the root causes.

On the other hand, I see no realistic way how the Kashmir conflict can
be addressed without both India and Pakistan being willing to move
from their entrenched (if not fossilised) positions on it. I don't see
that happening, so I predict another 50 years of this bloodshed.
