This happened to friends of mine and one brave LJer was also involved in
rescuing them from the brawl and got hit for the efforts.

The MLA quickly washed of his hands of the main guy as soon as NWC was spoken
about and a women molestation case was logged. But the case is now dead as main
guy who created this ruckus has about 30 criminal cases on him and is still out
on the streets, and the women are scared that he and his gang might do
something to them later on.Which seeing the current state of affairs is highly
possible.

It strikes me as a situation where we can all sit around with pursed lips
moaning the unfortunate events that are taking place, or do a Shobha Narayan
and display a good cop side to the Moral Police, or we can do something
practical.

Will anybody else join me in setting up a Legal Fund for pursuing the
perpetrators of such incidents through the criminal and civil law-courts, also
a Police Watch to identify and publicise police officers - the SP Mangalore,
the Commissioner of Police, Bangalore, to name just two examples of the
bought-over - and name-and-shame-them?
