Far more than that, the bjp's campaign was very in your face and
unsolicited - on mobiles, and on email.

They even managed to get Rajesh Jain (yes, netcore guy) to spam for them ..
and spam heavily enough to get huge amounts of his IP space (a couple of
/25s) blocked in spamhaus.org and elsewhere.

This was on a rather larger scale than previous such incidents (Modi
sending out huge amounts of mail in the past few years to promote 'vibrant
gujarat', 'kite flying festival' etc etc)

I dont know which media genius the BJP hired to give them that kind of
idea. They might as well fire him.

No better way to lose votes for a party than to launch such an in your face
and unsolicited ad blitz (which - at least for the segment of population
targeted - internet users in india - is rather more up close and personal
than cutouts, or wall posters.. both of which got cracked down on by the
EC this time)
