The question still remains.... ""Will it boomerang by BJP losing even its hard core hindu votes too, now that they are wooing muslims who still wont vote for them, come what may."" All along BJP was riding on the hindu votes (their own legitimate form of vote bank politics) (often declaring that they do not need a single minority vote to win). What would you call this U-turn when they themselves will be accused of appeasing the minorities. How will they face the same voters who have been voting them to power all along. While on one hand they may not make any inroads into the muslim votes (nor christian), they have this wonderful opportunity to lose even the hundu votes. Because the BJP is the skin with the RSS,VHP being the rest of the body, I see no way anyone can be convinced that they have changed their bones, brains, muscles and other organs. Most surprising (& heartening) fact of this election is the maturity shown by the electorate in seeing through the silly BJP design of hanging the religious carrot in front of the donkey. Also declaring a person to be the next PM smacked of megalomania to a certain degree. Ended with lot of egg on his face. Lukhman.
