....epics !! Talking of which, yesterday i channel surfed into a chat
show on Times Now where a few couples were discussing their live-in
relationships. Nothing unusual. The twist in the discussion was
introduced when a man in a polyandrous relationship with his best
friends wife for 30 years, was being interrupted and questioned on
moral grounds while describing his life choice(s). One woman opined
concern over him being unable to ever marry this woman legally,
another was worried about the effect on the future generation, some
were aghast that he lived with her children and husband under the same
roof in a Kerala village, a director described how strong of character
the protagonists in the movie salam namaste were, etc.... While
Draupadi came to mind during the discussion, here, it was certainly
strange to hear women participants on the show, already in a live-in
relationship (hence strong individuals un-fettered by society's
definition of morality) question his relationship on moral grounds.
The irony confounds me!!
