I have Thunderbird 2.0.0.23. Should I upgrade or wait for some debugging?

Upgrade. I've been using v3 since beta 3 on 9.04 and 9.10 and it's been working great. No snafus. One or two small irritants, but I ain't quibbling. I think it TB3 is currently the best GUI desktop e-mail client around, beating Claws Mail, Sylpheed, Evolution, Outlook and Outlook Express. (I haven't tried KMail and Gnus, and badly want to try out Sup[1] sometime.)

Do check out Bryan Clark's post on Thunderbird tab apps[2] and the comments there for excellent tab-related add-ons, including Google Calendar/Mail/Docs/Contacts/Wave/Tasks (via GQueues), Live Mail, Yahoo! Mail, Facebook, Twitter (though the last seems useless since dedicated apps like Gwibber and TweetDeck have much better functionality).

How can I have more than one language spellchecking in Thunderbird?
(Please don't answer rtfm aka look it up).

As Udhay said. The one disappointing aspect of multiple dictionaries is that TB doesn't seem to allow you to apply all dictionaries at the same time, thus doesn't work with multilingual e-mails. Sure you could repackage the two (or more) xpis into a single file, but it's a hassle.

Also, use:

instead of

Pranesh
