My list of abandoned books is rather long - often because I don't care
for or disagree with what the author has to say anymore. Sometimes
it's also because it's more of the same - I don't have the patience to
plod through the painfully obvious.

Occasionally there comes a book that I disagree with and would discard
in a heart beat if it weren't the only comprehensive book on the
subject - such as P T Srinivasa Iyengar's History of the Tamils
(http://goo.gl/BKXI). I find his leaps of logic hard to digest - he's
thin on facts and doesn't explain his assumptions. To make matters
worse the typesetting is ancient, and copies are hard to find. I have
since resorted to chewing on it in parts, too much of it at any one
time would cause me too much pain.
