Well like I said, I don't buy dead tree books unless there is no alternative (and "doing without" is an alternative!) I do still borrow some from the library, like David Thompson's "Thai Street Food" which is a huge gorgeously photographed book on one of my favorite subjects, but I am converting the pages I want to keep for reference into a form I can read in my e-book reader, then I'm returning the book to the library. > Charles...you never read a DTP (Dead Tree Production) on a > flight? I read most of my books on my phone now. Six in the last two months. Not allowed during take-off and landing, but otherwise no problem on flights. > I want to be the person who invents the next-gen longest-life battery/power > source. I get 24hrs+ on my phone, 12+ even when reading books pretty continuously. The e-ink platforms have very good battery life but they (and paper) need external light. I can read books on my phone in the dark! -- Charles
