A couple more admin points: Firstly, to clear up confusion, here is my way of looking at trolling: postings which are primarily designed to elicit strong emotional reactions (aka "winding up" people). Note that this is irrespective of whether the troll posting is true or not.
The wikipedia article is a good start point: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Troll_(Internet) Having said that, this bit: > I would state that while this list has mostly been interesting to me, there is > a deep reluctance on this list to discussion of some seriously contentious > issues that are generally dismissed offhand as "right wing views". certainly sounds like intentional eliciting of emotional reaction to me. You can't have it both ways. Another thing, Shiv. Your latest few postings contain a fair bit of name-calling. "laughably fatuous", "complete idiocy" and so on. Please stop. And another thing which seems obvious to me, but apparently not to a number of listmembers: "Assume goodwill" also implies "in the absence of evidence to the contrary". I'm calling an end to this thread now. Time out, everyone.
