Disingenuous is the word. The good professor isn't being too professional as 
he professes to prophesize on the matter.

One heck of a lot of things can kill you if you ingest enough and that 
includes water, cashew nuts and of course alcohol. Oh, and add chiliies to the  
list. I think the prof could have stated simply and truthfully that "being an 
idiot can kill you"

Did you know that the act of trying to place a garland can kill you? A few 
years ago a man in Kolkata had a dream that the goddess Kali dwelt inside a 
tiger in Kolkata zoo and she had commanded him to garland her. One night the 
man, suitably fortified with booze and equipped with a garland entered the 
tigers enclosure and tried to garland the tiger. He died of trying to place a 
garland. On a tiger.
