I've corresponded with many of the researchers mentioned in this story. My wife and I formulated a theory pretty much identical to Flegr's about 25 years ago (my wife has a PhD in molecular biology and had done work on other parasitic diseases). I know more about this wretched parasite & the syndromes it causes (particularly congenital toxo) -- both theoretically and experientially -- than most people in the medical profession. I'll be happy to address any questions list members may have. I don't claim to be a medical expert, but this is, alas, a big part of my life, and has been for nearly 30 years. jrs P.S. apologies for earlier top- and un-edited post.
