Sometimes Sainath makes some sense when he takes apart government reports or really badly done media stories... but usually he does a lot of grandstanding by trying to relate different pieces of information which are not really co-related. e.g. I recall in one of his video interviews (didnt see this one ) he went on and on about the Tsunami hitting india and east asia and the stock exchanges making historic highs at the same time. ( There was a tsunami warning recently again and i remember the markets tanked that day in anticipation of the tsunami... maybe Sainath bought some shares knowing the markets could have reached another all time high had the warning materialized :-) )
