Do you have a six sided die? What do you think the chances are that you
will roll a 1?

It's pretty easy to demonstrate that it's 1/6 right?

How about if you have a dartboard and a "random" dart that lands at a
random point on a square dartboard. If you draw a line down the center of
the square, the odds are the same that it will land in either side. What if
you draw the line 1/3 of the way across the square, so that one side is
twice as big (2/3 of the square) as the other (1/3 of the square?) what are
the chances it will land on one side versus the other?
